UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY VARSITY DINOS
Canada has a vibrant university swimming league with 35 universities competing from across the country for the U-Sport National Title. The varsity season starts in September and runs through to the U-Sport Championships in February. After the championships, swimmers will train until the end of the academic year when swimmers return to their home clubs. The coaching staff of UCSC has been very active in helping any swimmer that wants to compete at the university level in Canada, as well as in the US NCAA system, find a program that fits their needs both academically and athletically.
Swimmers, during the last half of grade 11 and into grade 12, should start exploring what is out there. The University of Calgary Varsity program is one of the strongest swim teams in the country year in and year out. If you have been a member of UCSC, you are guaranteed a training spot on the team for one year, as long as you can handle the training and meet the commitments of the sport at a high level.
Please see your coach for information if you wish to swim competitively while pursuing your university degree.
