Swim AB Summer Festivals!

What a spirited weekend for the Festival goers in Medicine Hat June 10 & 11!  Saturday's session started off with a 50 free, which was prelim/final (finals for the top 48!).  Twenty-seven girls and boys made a second swim on that day, in addition to so many excellent 100 butterfly swims (some for the first time ever), many many best 50m breaststroke times, 100 backstrokes and 100 IMs with swimmers dropping time like there was no tomorrow.

At Festival, Sunday's prelim final race is the 50 backstroke.  Thirty-five girls and boys hit their stride to make a second swim on Sunday, along with excellent 100 breaststrokes, 50 butterflies and 100 meter freestyles.  It was another session with many best times and incredible swims!  With swimmers so capable and at the top of their game, the coaching staff couldn't get the smiles off their faces.

The Festival meet is a sprint meet at it's essence, and so includes 4x25 relays as well.  Every Dino at the meet had a swim on at least one of the relays, the 4x25 free on Saturday and/or the 4x25 medley on Sunday.  What an adventure!  With coach Micky leading the swimmers in grand "TREX!" cheers for the finals heats and relays, our young, competitive Dinos had a blast.
